How about the walls doing the talking
The idea of ‘concept property’ seems to have taken the interior décor industry by a storm with more and more people waking up to it and getting it done around their homes. A concept wall in the living room, a concept cupboard for the bedroom or may be a concept ceiling for the kids’ room, there are endless options available if someone wants to try the concept décor in a comparatively smaller section, before getting it executed around the complete home. Therefore, to begin with, in this blog we will explore a few wall concepts so that you can make your walls do the talking for you!
Concept wall for the living room – A minimalist-ic yet interesting wall for your living room is a winning recipe. Use abstract laminate films for the background. Choose a bold background colour like brown, orange or even red and use a contrasting shade to do the border. The idea is to make a section of the wall appear distinct and loud. You may further choose to hand portraits or family pictures in this section of the wall, however, our recommendation is you leave it empty and stick to the bare minimums. On this wall, the abstract design and colours will do needful.
Another good idea is to create a wall just to show-off your new plasma television or any other appliance you’re extremely proud to own. Mix and match the colour of the appliance with the background wall so that the moment one enters your living room, all their attention is drawn towards the section of the wall sparing you the need to find a good reason to show-off
A more personal touch for the bedroom wall – Irrespective of time, age, generation etc. etc. it is our belief that bedroom walls should be extremely personal. If you are single then a portrait size laminated photograph of you alone, you with your parents, or you with your siblings is just good enough. And if you are married, then you and your better half or your children and the both of you together is all that your bedroom wall desires.
In order to add more depth to your bedroom wall, choose lilac or vinyl foils, available in a range of colours, for the wall background (even better will be to use decorative laminates keeping in mind the durability factor and maintenance cost). The plan is that we will create an illusion of a painted wall pattern and hang the portrait on it. What else can be a better way to give more prominence to those special moments you spent with your loved ones!
Kitchen walls should exude freshness – Yes, your kitchen walls should sparkle with energy and bloom with innovation. Make cooking more fun by doing up walls in the colours of fresh fruits and veggies. It might sound a little over-the-top in the first instance, but believe me you are going to love it. Use light green, maroon, yellow, and orange for your kitchen cabinet doors, countertops and ceiling (given most of the kitchen area is usually tiled or has granite, these are the sections you can experiment with). Adding a quick bonus tip here – have your cooking area facing the kitchen garden or an open space with some greenery and see how it invigorates your mood and lifts your spirit. This is bound to show up even in your cooking!
These are three ‘concept wall’ styles that are easy to create. Try them out in your home and then decide what do you think about concept décor. If you have any specific décor related query, do write to us here.
